APD was selected to deliver Multidisciplinary Design of the entire South Jerrabomberra Zone Substation site Building (basement, panels, foundations), the full greenfield 132kV substation design including structural design, building architectural & structural design, civil bulk earthworks & drainage designs, as well as the electrical, civil-structural, mechanical, telecommunications and building services.
Full site support was provided by our team, during the construction and commissioning stage of the project.
When completed, the South Jerrabomberra Zone Substation development area will deliver 1,500 residential lots, a business park, industrial estate, Innovation Precinct, Regional Sports Complex, Intermodal Transport Hub and new High School to the Jerrabomberra area.
PROJECT CHALLENGES & ACHIEVEMENTS
- Two story concrete tilt up panel buildings with internal gantry cranes & maintenance platforms for GIS installations.
- Suspended concrete slabs supporting GIS equipment & switchboards with tolerances of 2mm over large spans.
- Specialised leveling frames cast into the floors to perfectly level GIS frames.
- Cable basement with cable management systems.
- Full 3D modelling of the building & entire 132kV substation site.
- Full greenfield 132kV substation design including structural design, building architectural & structural design, civil bulk earthworks & drainage designs.
