Astro has officially made his on-field debut. At Mineral Resources Park, APD Global's robo-dog delivered the match ball onto the field for the West Coast Eagles AFLW game - a new role for a four-legged team member better known for engineering and innovation work.
Astro, the robotic dog, represents APD Global at match day alongside Dazza the rover, as part of the firm's Premier Partnership with the West Coast Eagles, in place since March 2025. Game day at Mineral Resources Park put that robotics capability in front of the crowd: a machine built for engineering environments, calmly trotting the match ball out onto an AFLW field on game day in Perth.
From engineering and innovation to game-day action, it is always exciting to see technology step outside the lab and into the real world. Not a bad first day on the job, Astro.
