This Privacy Policy applies to this website and to the services offered by Alliance Power and Data Pty. Ltd. T/A APD Global (“the Company”, “we”, “us”).
1. Personal information
The Company is committed to safeguarding personal privacy. It recognises that individuals have a right to control how their personal information is collected and used. Providing personal information is an act of trust and it is taken seriously. Unless given consent to do otherwise, the Company will only collect and use personal information as set out below.
2. Collecting personal information
The Company will not collect or monitor any personal information about an individual without their consent. The only personal information collected through this website is what has been provided voluntarily, by submitting one of the two forms described in section 4.
This website has no account system, no login, and no newsletter sign-up. If you do not submit a form, we do not learn who you are.
3. Cookies and tracking technologies on this website
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. On their own they identify your browser rather than you personally, but they can be combined with other information to do so, which is why your consent governs all but one of them here.
The position on this website is deliberately narrow, and it is worth stating plainly what is absent: there is no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recording, no A/B testing tool, and no social media tracking tag. Our web fonts are served from this website rather than from Google, so loading a page contacts no third party at all.

This is a strictly necessary cookie under the ePrivacy rules: it exists only to remember your own decision, and it does not require consent. Nothing else is stored on your device before you choose - no other cookie, and no localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB entry.
Embedded media - YouTube, only with your consent
One page on this site - our Waratah Super Battery project page - carries two embedded YouTube videos. Until you accept the “Embedded media” category, those embeds do not load, nothing is requested from Google, and a placeholder is shown in their place with a button to load them.
If you accept, your IP address, browser user-agent and the page you are viewing are sent to Google LLC, and Google sets the following cookies on the youtube.com domain:

Loading a YouTube embed also causes your browser to contact Google’s advertising infrastructure, including doubleclick.net. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and Google’s own privacy policy governs them. We do not read them and we receive nothing from them.
Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent unloads the video embeds immediately. Cookies Google has already set are held by Google - you can remove them through your browser’s settings, which also let you block or delete cookies generally. If you block cc_cookie, we cannot remember your choice and will ask again on each visit.
4. Forms you submit on this website
This website has two forms. Both are operated by the Company itself: they are not provided by a third-party form service, they do not use a third-party CAPTCHA, and submitting one sets no cookie.
What each form collects

In both cases we additionally receive, and store, your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string. These are used to detect and limit automated abuse - submissions from one IP address are capped at five per hour - and for no other purpose.
A note on CVs. A CV often carries much more than a work history: date of birth, nationality, home address, a photograph, and sometimes information about health, disability or ethnic origin. Under the GDPR some of that is “special category” data with stronger protection. Please send only what you want considered for a role - you do not need to include a photograph, a date of birth or any health information, and we do not ask for them.
Where it goes and who sees it
Submissions are sent to, and stored in, the Company’s own Microsoft Azure environment in the Australia East region, in private storage that is not publicly accessible. Notification email is delivered by SMTP2GO to the relevant Company team so that they can respond to you. A CV you attach is shared with that team as a private, time-limited download link rather than as an attachment.
The recipients of your information are therefore: the Company’s own staff who handle enquiries or recruitment; Microsoft, as the provider of the storage and compute; and SMTP2GO, as the provider of the notification email. None of them uses your information for their own purposes.
How long we keep it

These deletions run on a schedule; they are not a promise to review files by hand. If you would like your submission removed sooner, contact us using the details in section 10 and we will delete it.
The legal basis for handling it
For an enquiry, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has asked us to get in touch, and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. For an expression of interest in a role, we rely on the consent you give by ticking the box - which you can withdraw at any time by contacting us, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it. For the IP address and user-agent, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the forms from being abused.
5. Using and disclosing your personal information
Personal information will be used for the following primary purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry, or to consider you for a role.
- To fulfil obligations under any contract between you and the Company.
- To render services related to the Company’s business.
For the purposes described above, information may be shared with the Company’s group companies, which operate in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Italy, Singapore and the United States. As set out in section 4, it is also handled by the service providers who operate our storage and our email delivery. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Contact by the Company
The Company will use the details you provide to reply to you about the enquiry or application you made.
We do not add people who contact us through this website to a marketing list. If we ever want to send you anything beyond a reply - a newsletter, or information about our services - we will ask you first, and you will be able to say no without it affecting your enquiry.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and be given a copy of it.
- Correct it, if it is wrong or out of date.
- Delete it, including before the retention periods in section 4 expire.
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including where we rely on legitimate interest.
- Receive it in a portable form, or have it sent to another organisation, where it was provided by you and we rely on your consent or on a contract.
- Withdraw your consent, where consent is what we rely on - for an expression of interest, or for the cookie categories in section 3.
Exercising any of these rights is free and will not disadvantage you. We will respond within one month. Ask using the details in section 10.
These rights come from the GDPR for individuals in the European Union and the United Kingdom, and from the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 for individuals in Australia. Where the two differ we apply the more protective, rather than asking you which one you are covered by.
8. International transfers
The Company operates in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Italy, Singapore and the United States, and our Italian offices are an establishment of the Company in the European Union.
Information submitted through this website is stored in Australia, as set out in section 4. Australia has not been the subject of a European Commission adequacy decision, so where that transfer involves personal data of individuals in the EU or UK, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses together with the safeguards described in this policy. Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 we also remain accountable for how an overseas recipient handles information we disclose to them.
If you accept the “Embedded media” cookie category described in section 3, your IP address and browser details are sent to Google LLC in the United States. Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. That transfer happens only because you chose to load the video, and it does not happen at all if you decline.
9. Links to other websites
The Company provides links to websites outside of this site - including LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Seek and APD Space. These linked sites are not under the control of the Company, and the Company is not responsible for the conduct of the companies operating them, nor for the performance or otherwise of any content or software contained in them. Following one of those links means the site you arrive at, and its privacy policy, takes over. Note that this applies from the moment you click: a link sets nothing while it is merely sitting on our page.
10. Problems, queries and complaints
Queries relating to this Privacy Policy, requests under section 7, and any problems or complaints may be directed to the Personal Information Officer:

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to a supervisory authority. In Australia that is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). In the European Union it is the data protection authority of the country you live or work in - in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it). In the United Kingdom it is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
