APD Global was engaged by Western Power to design the new Bunning Lake substation and secondary electrical equipment at the existing Sutherland St. substation.
Leveraging Bentley’s reality modeling and integrated 3D digital design applications with Bentley ProjectWise, APD established a connected data environment and digital twin, streamlining workflows, collaboration among the civil and structural design teams and communication with stakeholders. The integrated solution enabled APD to significantly reduce project delivery time and costs.
Through advanced visualisation using the digital twin, APD improved communication with stakeholders and optimised design, reducing material waste and energy usage, contributing to a reduction in the project’s carbon footprint.
The successful design was also replicated as a LEGO model, showcasing innovation and sparking conversation.
