CIGRE 2026, day one. Sixteen delegates, eight papers.

CIGRE Paris Session 2026 is underway at the Palais des Congrès - and APD Global arrived with one of the strongest Australian delegations on the floor.

25 August 2026 · Paris

CIGRE 2026 opened at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, and APD Global was there in strength from the first session: sixteen delegates presenting eight technical papers, plus contributions across several global working groups. Australian engineering on the world stage.

The first day set the tone for the week - plenty of sessions, plenty of conversations, and a full programme still to come. For a firm that has spent 27 years delivering transmission, substation and power systems work in Australia and New Zealand, the Paris Session is where that delivery experience meets the global research community.

The eight papers span protection in inverter-dominated grids, under-frequency load shedding in high-DER networks, digital substation cybersecurity and AI-driven brownfield design - original research from the same engineers who deliver the infrastructure.
