APD Global’s new Auckland office is at 64 Highbrook Drive, Highbrook Business Park. The space is built for a larger New Zealand team delivering energy, infrastructure and technology work across the country.
Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch now sit as one specialist bench for Transpower and the New Zealand networks.
The New Zealand operation is anchored by APD Global's appointment to Transpower's Lines Full Design Panel in April 2024 - accreditation as a design partner for transmission infrastructure on the national grid. The appointment followed the firm's establishment in New Zealand and early-stage work aligned with Whakamana i Te Mauri Hiko, the national programme to double New Zealand's renewable electricity generation and electrify transport and industry.
The bench itself is the same one that serves Transgrid, Western Power and ElectraNet in Australia - transmission design with towers, foundations, stringing systems and conductor selection at 330 kV and 500 kV, alongside substation design, grid connection and power system studies. In New Zealand, accreditation extends to Transpower and the distribution networks.
Highbrook gives that team a proper Auckland base. Three offices - Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch - keep the firm close to the networks, contractors and clients that make up the New Zealand electricity sector, backed by a global house of around 1,000 engineers and specialists across fifteen locations.
