More than 70 battery energy storage assignments. Independent engineer on Australia's largest grid-scale battery. GPS registration, SIPS design, NEM and WEM connection studies - for generators and storage that have to stay compliant and stable.
APD Global’s power systems and BESS teams cover the full scope of grid connection and storage work: connection studies, system strength assessments, generator performance standard registration, SIPS design, primary and secondary engineering for battery substations, independent and owner's engineer roles, and construction oversight.
With more than 70 BESS assignments across Australia and New Zealand, APD has covered the range from small commercial installations to the largest grid-scale batteries in the Southern Hemisphere. Each project delivers the technical compliance that regulators, network owners and lenders need before the first cell is charged.
On high-value, high-consequence storage projects - where lenders, government and network owners need an independent technical voice - APD operates as independent engineer. Waratah Super Battery is the headline case: 1,400 MWh, SIPS across 28 sites, primary and secondary design review, live test witnessing.
Generator Performance Standard registration requires site tests, validated dynamic models and technical submissions that satisfy AEMO under the National Electricity Rules. APD Global’s Power Systems team has delivered GPS registration across the NEM and WEM for batteries, renewable generators and industrial plant.
Pre-application and formal connection studies for new generators and storage - system strength, fault levels, voltage stability, thermal capability, access rights and GPS compliance modelling.
